Should I Get a White or Silver Filling?
This is one of the most common questions I get in my practice. The choice between a white or silver filling is a question to discuss with your dentist. In general, most of my patients choose a white (composite) restoration as it is nearly impossible for a white filling to be seen when a person is smiling, talking, laughing, chewing or yawning. The esthetics far outweigh the slight increase in cost when compared to a silver filling.
A white filling should always be used in teeth that are located in the “smile zone”. Next time you need a new filling or a replacement of a filling, ask about composite restorations. Please contact me for a complimentary consultation. I look forward to meeting you!
